Early divorce from my Conti's?
When I got my new to me '09 C2S the car had gone through a CPO and the dealer put in a brand new set of ContiSportContact 3's
I've put on about 3k miles on them. While I'm happy with the way they ride and handle the road noise has gotten to the point where it's unbearable. After an hour drive on the freeway it's leaving me with ringing ears. The road noise is crazy.
I'm thinking it might be time to throw in the white flag and change to Super Sports. It kills me as these tires are just getting broken in.
Any thoughts on an early divorce?

I never like the Continentals. Had them on my old 3 Series with sport package...road noise was totally unbearable!! Used them on my 5 Series, which had taller side walls, noise was no where near the low profile style.
Never ever thought about them for the P-Car. I'm using Hankook's now...love them.

Why not see if the dealer has a similar car to yours with pss tires? You could drive around the block to see if you can tell the difference. I could definitely tell a difference between Pirelli and Michelin.
I bought an 11 M3 which came with Conti's. I took the approach that I would drive on them UNTIL the first flat tire . 10K miles it happened . Then I replaced all 4 with PS2's .
Huge difference .

Interesting. I have the same Continentals via a CPO car. I have a bit over 6K on the car since purchase and I don't notice any excessive road noise. There is a road I regularly travel that gets really noisy, but its gotta be a function of that particular road surface. Does not happen elsewhere. I'm really hoping to wear these out before springing for new tires.

I bought Bridgestone Potenza RE050A(N1) to replaced the original PS2 at 16K miles and I preferred it over the PS2. It is quieter than PS2 even towards the end of its life. I am replacing the rear tires withe the Bridgestone next month when I remove my snow tire/wheel setup.

Assuming both cars' tires are set at the proper tire pressures. More air, more the road noise.
