i just checked again and it clearly seeping out from that seal, so that's what I gonna do (of course that will mean that I'll have to dump all the coolant first)

I just had this happen to me as well. Leaked to the left side of the engine. Light flashed on saying check coolant level. Topped it off just now. Any change this is the water pump?

Whatever you do, keep your dogs and cats away from any spilled coolant. It's very tasty to them, but it will likely kill them painfully (Ethylene glycol in most antifreeze turns to crystals in the kidneys) or make them very painfully sick. Anyone ever having had a kidney stone can attest. If you think P-car bills are expensive, vet bills are damn steep, too.
