running wire to rear bumper ? Help
How to remove Rear Interior Panel and run camera wire
OK - so I figured it out; it took a bit of time.
First - On a 997.1 , the rear panel comes off in the following manner
1) Leave on seat belt rose cover, just push seat belt over and look for torx screw behind it through the opening for the belt - this holds the upper part of the panel. Some places say to remove seat belt rose cover, it is difficult and not needed. If you drop the screw you can get it later.
2) Unscrew the bolt for the rear seat latch.
3) I removed the sub box to make it a bit easier. Pop off the "Bose" plates over the ports, remove the one bolt under the ports on each side. Box slides forward, disconnect speaker connection
4) Pull locking lugs of side-panel lining out of the clips in the rear side section. I did this by gently pulling all the edges toward me. Caution: the seat belt cover has a clip near the door that hooks upward into the pillar, so need to pop door panel out and down to disengage at this point.
5) Disconnect the loudspeaker electrical plug connection.
Remove panel.
To run wire to rear plate for camera, there is a grommet about 3 inches in diameter that goes from the passenger side into engine bay.

I just took a screwdriver and punched a hole in the grommet, there is a "soft spot" that seems made for this. Then I removed rear passenger tail light, and ran wire into light compartment and easily into the bumper through a hole present. Interestingly, if you take off your rear license plate, there is a 2 inch hole in the center of the bumper.
