Suspension advice

Has anyone gone through the research and can share their findings on suspension options on a 997.1?

When I go over a bump, the front wheels feel like they have give or a slight wobble. Is this normal or do I need to replace my bushings and/or shocks?

What I like is a nice tight, taut feel when I go over a bump, like I experienced in my old BMW 5 series. Will OEM do this for me? What is the cost/benefit/sacrifices associated with OEM vs. performance aftermarket options? Is there a clear answer or is it just a matter of preference?

A little info:
My 997 4S has PSM and about 48,000. I have only had the car two years and do not know when and if the suspension has ever been changed. My wheels are balanced and I had an alignment done recently and the alignment had no impact on the issue.

Not enough information. Have you put the car on a lift to see if anything is loose? Or visually inspected the front suspension? What are the condition of your tires? Inflated properly? Any unusual noises when hitting bumps? Any perceived differences between high and low frequency bumps?

Make sure the top hex nut (22mm) on the top of your front strut shafts is snugged down.

If you decide to replace the struts the Bilstein PSS10 is supposed to be a very nice improvement and allows the PASM to still function.

Yes, I have those and love them. The PASM versions are referred to as Damptronics.
