I'd get the standard sizes as they're 2 pounds lighter per tire. The Toyo 888 305 in comparison gives you less than 10mm more tread width (not all of which is rubber) but at an unsprung weight/rolling mass disadvantage, which will adversely affect acceleration and braking.

I run 245/315 Hoosier R6 and love it.
Combined with GT3 lower control arms and the right alignment and the handling on the track is fantastic.

When I was running MPSS tires I first ran 235 fronts then switched to 245 fronts and that helped a little. Then I switched back to 18" 245/305 combo and that was the best improvement with Nitto NT01. I ran Toyo R888 19" 235/305 and then 255/315 18" and 245/305 18"... R888 are not great tires and lately have been having a tread seem splitting issue. Tire Rack took back 4 tires this year and 2 last year due to this issue with R888.

I run 235/295 MPSS for DD. But for the track and DE events I purchased a set of 18" CCW wheels and run 245/305 Nitto NT01. Along with my other suspension mods and alignment settings, the understeer is dialed out and car feels balanced.
