my wife's orange c4s cab
Thanks everybody. the other cars are a C5 Z06 with 6k miles and all stock. an 02 Murcielago with roadster wheels and a Lambo of Orange County exhaust. the yellow 911 is my daily driver 996 c2 with factory aero and 108k miles.
the gt3rs is pretty much stock. has the PCCB's and a Sharkwerk's race exhaust which is stupid loud but fun. it replaced a red 360 modena, which i liked, but didnt love.
then my wife's new C4s, which has 30k miles on it.
we do have dirtbikes and atv's, and even a kawasaki mule. but nothing crazy, just to run around our land. i was never a fly through the air moto x'er. had all kinds of sportbikes, but no street bikes at the moment.
just got the 996 detailed, after 108k miles of year round new england driving, it's held up really well:

I would be very interested to know why you have each car (since you do have three 911 at this point) and what you do and dont like about them. Also, an explanation of the yellow/orange color choice.
the gt3rs i bought because i always wanted one and i was searching for another cab for my wife and saw it for sale. i like bright colors obviously and the orange one is my favorite of all time (i'd take it over any 997.2 gt3, i think the only other one i'd really want is a 4.0). i actually thought/think it may be a mistake, because my plan was to drive it to work every day and replace my yellow c2. but i cant get myself to do, it will just get wrecked. if i had bought a regular gt3 in say yellow, i would have sold my 996 c2 and just driven the crap out of the gt3. but this rs, even if it isnt worth nearly as much as a new regular gt3, i cant do it.
i was trying to trim down the cars as i felt like i had too many. thats why i sold my 360 in the first place, but this gt3rs just seems to have replaced it.
the murc i dont know why i keep. i'm not a huge ferrari fan, i think i like the lambos better and i always wanted one. it doesnt drive well. it's big and awd. really not a driver's car. i think about selling it, but i guess i'm not ready yet. the most fabulous thing about it is the way it looks. it's not built well. but it does have a mountain of hp.
the z06 is the easiest to keep. it was my dad's and i wont ever sell it. the sound and torque of an american v8 is very hard to beat in my mind. but the interior is very american and the feel is american. i wouldnt want to drive it everyday.
my daily driver c2 i love! i love it because its just enough in every respect. it's fast enough to be fun. its stiff enough to handle well, but it doesnt punish you. it looks fabulous. it was cheap enough that i don't worry about it and it is tremendous fun for the money i paid for it.
i'm pretty lucky. i'm still in my 30's and i've had a bunch of cars. growing up i never even liked porsches, but after having the others (the italians and the vette) i really appreciate them. they just work, and you're not afraid theyre going to break like the italian cars. my first porsche was a 996 turbo that i only bought because i wanted something fast and awd i could drive in the snow. i put 60k miles on it in 2 yrs while living in NH! it was bulletproof and since then i just kept buying them. the only thing i didnt like about it, was that it was silver.
i actually dont know what its called. but its the same as the gt3. i think it might just be called special orange.
despite that i cant get myself to pave it. it's part of our atv/dirtbike race track, and i just like it, ha!
thanks! the c2 was in real sad shape, but it had 3m on the front. that saved it. i jsut had it removed and detailed. i think i will have new 3m put on so it can go another hundred k.
Joey,
The orange is awesome. I believe it is a paint to sample, called "orange: 8C6".
What did you dislike about the 360? Other than a sports car to drive in the rough NE winters. Did you put many miles on the 360?
Good for you and your wife, you truly enjoy your wonderful cars and have them well positioned.
