track stickers
track stickers
I've seen a couple of cars that have silhouettes of different tracks on the car somewhere - rear window, rear side window etc.
Looks very cool but looks a bit like wearing a yellow jersey on a club bike ride - a bit ostentatious and kind of asking for it.
For those that track - at what point do you feel you've earned the right to put this sticker on your track car??
Maybe I've spent too muh time in bright spandex.

When I see them, I don't feel as though they stick out in a negative way, because track goers usually welcome one another - we are a relative small minority of motorsport enthusiasts - that actually GO to the track. And I think only road course guys would know what they are to begin with. So when I see cars with them, I definitely feel a little better knowing the guy in front or behind me has seen a course a few times, and that we have less of a chance having an incident.
BUT - when trash talking starts, all bets are off. Some people (in every industry) are just badge ******. I feel every group has that 10%. Nothing we can do about it.
So, my take - I'd never do it on my daily driver. On my track car, the one that I let me kids paint with their favorite can of spray paint from Walmart, I could not really give a thought about it... In fact I'd let me kids put them wherever they wanted.
One of my next cars will most likely be a Mustang, painted by my daughter - with a sticker of Rainbow Dash, where the Mustang pony is supposed to go. She loves this idea - I'd put the road course stickers on that one.
I have a buttonwillow sticker discretely placed on the inside of my driver's rear window. It's a subtle salute to the hobby and I've started noticing it on other cars as well. A friend of mine's neighbor has a thunderhill sticker on his car. Now I have a reason to chat the next time I see him.
i like them. a cool way to say 'been there done that'. i never take it as a ****y thing. it's a recognition thing among track guys - no harm. that said, i've never put one on a car, but that doesn't mean i wouldn't. not sure it really matters what others put on their cars...
Hello
I am guilty as charged, I got my Sebring sticker as a badge of honor after a few laps. Besides I think it looks nice on my white 997 on the black tint. Each to their own is my motto.

I like them. I think if someone drives Nurburgring, they definitely have a cause to put one on! They're great conversation starters.
I don't have them, but sort of wish that I did.
I think it gets confusing about whether the driver or the car was there. Certainly driver makes sense - why have a sticker on the car like that from a previous owner.
I've been to 8 road courses, but with 3 different cars. So I'm not sure I'd put all 8 on the car. Since I sold the dedicated track car, and I'm going to track my 997 street car, I don't think about it too much - until I see some at the track during my next event!
