technically the car is his but the ***** belong to his wife because we all know when the wife is riding shotgun, she is in charge of the temperature, otherwise all you hear is "it's too hot...it's too cold"

I ordered a new "Air Conditioning Control Unit" today from Suncoast for my 2007 turbo because my fan and temp buttons look like crap. I don't want to be without the car if I send the buttons to "Stickynomore" and I don't want to use those cheesy stickers (climarepair) you see advertised. My question is this: if I swap the unit myself, does the dealer have to activate it? Suncoast's website says "Dealer activation is typically required" but the guy I spoke to there was not 100% certain. Anyone know for sure? Thanks.

Not at all. Simple plug and play install.

Stickynomore.com has a DIY guide on the removal and install of the unit.

ACRB is infamous around these parts
I think it's a hopeless cause painting them with Sharpies etc. Every time you looked at them you would know that it's not right. I had to have the unit changed in my car, but fortunately it was still under CPO. That rubberized finish on center consoles and switches/***** does not hold up well.

A client's 07 911 turbo did the same thing. Sticky no more looks like a great solution.

Buy the newly designed replacement toggles from stickynomore and new radio ***** from Suncoast. The lighting will still show through and they'll be better than new.

my bad - meant to say climarepair. That's where I ordered my replacement toggles from.

Sorry, I was referring to the radio *****, not your wife's.
