Problem with windows, Question for cabriolet owners....

Once I close the top and the latch locks, my rear passenger window goes up approximately 90% then goes back down to about 50% closed and stays there. I have to then hit the window switch to get it closed all the way. I had the same problem with the front passenger window and Porsche changed the window motor under warranty. Anyone know what the problem is? I'm guessing I need to have the motor swapped there too, but I was wondering if this is a common problem with the cabriolets. Thanks!

never had that issue with mine (knock on wood), both windows go up all the way after the top closes (as long as I'm holding down the top-button). I also drive with all windows down whenever the top's down, if that makes a difference. What's the model-year of your car?

Mine used to do that, i attributed it to the window sensing an obstruction while on the way up, i suspected something on the seal from the rear smaller window. I cleaned all the seals, couldnt find anything, but now problem is gone.

Haven't had this problem, thankfully. Please post up when you find the cause.

Try resetting the windows. Run them full up and down twice holding the button each time until the windows have reached their full up or down position. This will reset the computer and should fix the problem. I have had this problem intermitently and there doesn't appear to be anything wrong with them short of a computer gremlin of the sort common to modern Porsches.

^^^ +1
I have a similar problem with the rear windows, mainly driver side. I do the above reset and hold the switch in the final position for approx. 20 sec. Seems to fix it for about a month or so. Then repeat ...

Thanks DADIO! I'll try later today and repost with the outcome. Good thing is that I still have the warranty. It's just annoying having to take it in again...but then again, it is due for a brake fluid flush. It's a 2011 TTS, BTW.

The windows' rubber seals need to be lubed. I had the same problem. Dealer checked for fault codes. Found none. Lubed with silicone spray. Done.

Do you mean the weather strip seals? Or the seals down where the pivot points are? Thanks.

I believe that the weather strip seals are the culprits, but am not sure about that. Lube both, just to be safe. The whole process took the dealer about three minutes.
