Lastly, you may experiment with 'super strong magnets.' You basically install a few on the inside of the bumper, on the inside of the plate, and voila! No holes!

Search the Web... A few has done it. I'm no engineer but I could not compute how much 'magnet strength' it takes to NOT have the wind peel off the plate at certain MPH speed. One guy claims to have driven over 100+ mph and the magnetized setup did not budge.

Did you check with the DMV if it is legal to alter the size of the license plate?

You may (or not) like my setup, but you may get some ideas out it.

Nope. My plate was trimmed just about 1/8" top and bottom. If you were to look at the ending size, it is much larger than a plate with a "license plate frame" on it. I don't think it will be an issue.

Btw, if you were to ck with the DMV, everything would be illegal.

If you don't want to cut minimal pieces, you can always bend to fit. I just like clean installs.

Cheers

We do what we can. Want to make sure you know that not every Porsche owner has this OCD problem with properly mounting a front license plate like most of the world does without issue.

It all boils down to preference regarding aesthetics. I much prefer the cleaner look of no front plate but there are options. I was, and am, seeking advice on mounting the plate below the bumper. I greatly appreciate those who have offered constructive help and pictures. OCD, no.
To each his own.

OCD or not, and with all due respect to the owners of tow hook kits, I couldn't agree seeing the plate off-centered; thus, my setup.

As long as we are all happy with what we have, that's all that matters.

Cheers!

Despite recommending the US Millworks option, I also dislike the off-center look for daily use. Basically, I don't run my front plate unless I'm off to somewhere like LA where I might have to park at meter. I've not yet had a fix ticket, but when I do, I'll screw on the tow-hook mount, get the fix signed off and pop it back in the trunk.

Yup, that's when I run the tow-hook. It doesn't look the best, but my bumper isn't drilled and when I get back home (San Diego) I can take it right off.

I bought the tow hook kit but that extra pound weight made my car slower due to the extra weight; so I got rid of it. Interesting enough, when I painted the S letter of the C4S emblem with red paint, my car became faster. Faster again once I washed the car.

The above paragraph is obviously a corny joke!!!! Hehehehehe
