How much?
How much?
Hi All,
A long time lurker here and never really post much. Quick background, i had a 996 c2 and sold it for an e46 m3 back in the day. Ever since that day, I was always looking for my next p-car.
What so you think i should offer for this car?
Asking is $52,982.00
07 Carrera S - Arctic Silver - Black/Terracotta
Mileage: 51K
Options:
267 - Self Dimming Mirrors
342 - Heated Front Seats
446 - Wheel Caps with Colored Crest
640 - Sport Chrono Package Plus
670 - Navigation for PCM
680 - Bose High End Sound Package
970 - Bicolor Interior Instructions
BP - Black/Terracotta Interior
M6T - Terracotta Floor Mats
P15 - Power Seat Package
X1 - Arctic Silver Metallic
The dealer is a bit of a drive away from me but I plan on checking it out this week. Please help!
Thanks!

I'll offer an opinion
Assuming the following:
1. Clear Carfax
2. Independently performed PPI, including DME read-out for overrevs etc. and paint density check
3. No visible short term needs (tires, brakes, clutch)
4. Full service history (oil change frequency; were the spark plugs and coils ever replaced, if so: how long ago, any other items replaced, such as expansion tank, water pump, ...)
I'd say $48K
The need for #1 is self-evident
#2 is a strong recommendation, even if (and some would say 'especially when') you're buying from a Porsche dealer.
#3 and #4 are an indicator of your potential short term exposure with a 6-yr old car with some mileage on it.
I have an '06 S cab and have had to replace all of these items in the past two years. Nothing alarming, but, between parts and labor, you can quickly add $6K-$8K to your cost of ownership in the first year, which I would factor into the purchase price in either direction (meaning: if these items have been replaced in the last 2 years, the car is worth a little more and the reverse is also true).
Like I said at the top, this is just one opinion from someone who has bought 4 used 911's in a row.

CPO helps a little but is no guarantee or panacea.
Do yourself a favor and search for 'Beverly Hills Porsche' in this forum and you will read a horror story about a CPO vehicle.

Make sure you read the thread that that one links to as well...
