Passenger Door Opening Problem

Was out the other day when suddenly when my passenger was about the get outof the car, the handle inside the car felt disconnected to the lock releasemechanism. After a few attempts to open the door from the insdie didn’t work, Igot out of the car and tried opening the doot from the outside.

When I lifted the handle outside the car, the window did the usual drop butthe latch didn’t open. After locking and unlocking the car a couple of times, the latch managed to catch and the door opened normally.

I noticed over the next few days that if the door could open after a fewattempts, it would be operating ok after that, but if it could “catch on” tothe opening mechanism, it would just pull freely.

From the outside, when the latch was pulled to open the door, the windowwould just drop a little and when I released, it would lift up to its fullyclosed position.

Anybody here got any ideas whats wrong ?

Did a bit of surfing and its probably not the micro switches but maybe abroken connecter to the latch mechanism inside the door.

Any chance for a quick fix or would I have to buy a new latch mechanism, also how much would this cost.

Thanks in advance for your input as always.

Now the door cannot be opened at all.

Looks like i'll have to open the door skin to take a look inside.
