Colder spark plugs? More power=more heat

I called the shop to check to see if they were able to replace my ignition coils since one melted yesterday. Background info, I had the VF engineering supercharger just recently installed. The shop was wondering why VF Engineering didn't use colder spark plus after supercharging their cars? Has anyone changed their spark plugs after this kit?

I had stock plugs although I personally changed them out every 5,000 miles. No issues when I had the car.

Same here. I have the stock spark plugs with the S/C installed. Just recently changed them out about 1 yr ago for newer ones as the car had 30k on them. Spark plugs looked good still at that time. I have heard of people changing out the plugs for a colder one and even copper instead of platinum. I have yet to try this, but thus far, the OEM spec ones are holding up well with the S/C, in my experience.
