Anybody done this mod. Our bak up lights are the ordinary halogens. Was wondering if anyone has found an led replacment. The bulbs look very unique but are nevertheless ordinary ones

 

I thought you had a 997.2? If so, doesn't the entire tail light assembly consist of LED's?

Hi jh. Yes its a 997.2 practically all the bulbs at the rear are led's exept the back up lamps. Hmm i guess not a lot of people know this. They are brothers and sisters. Except again they are not your ordinary halogens or t10 or whatever commor bulbs you can buy. They are special lamps in a very unique holder. O should have taken a picture when i dismantled. I tried to remove the bulb from the holder but it would not budge. Wanted to change to high output leds

 

Couldn't remove the bulb - maybe that's why no replacement bulb is listed. How dark is it where you live where you need high output backup lights...you're spending too much time in reverse.

 

Hehehe you make me smile. Go into reverse just when i need to back up. It just seems out of place that the whole cluster is led and the back up lamps light up yellowish. You know what i mean.... so if there was an led replacement for that thing i would surely consider it. But, there is a big but, only if it provides equal or more lumens...
