997.2 fog light on 997.1?
You can't simply switch the lights as they are a different size and shape. However, you can buy the front facelift upgrade from Suncoast. It comes with the wiring adapter, lights and bumper.

LED Front Lights for 997.1
You can buy LEDs that fit into the 997.1 bumper openings also, which makes them look more like 997.2 lights, plus you can hook them up with a current sensing DRL relay so the LEDs or the middle light bar (SPDT Relay req'd) come on automatically every time you start the car. You can find them here, eBay, and many other places - I'd recommend contacting Nello at Maxspeed Motorsports.
If you just hook them up to the factory plugs, horizontal white fiber optic bars are the parking lights, white LEDs are the fog lights, and amber LEDs are the turn signals. Have these on both our 2005 997.1 cars (one with a RUF bumper and the other with a Vorsteiner), but they'll also fit the factory OEM or the GT3 bumpers.
I did a very detailed write-up either here or on Rennlist of how I hooked up the DRL current sensing module if you search for posts by me.
