997 exhaust question

hey guys, i have a 2007 c4s and i'm looking to make it a little louder, while keeping it from being obnoxious (is that possible?). i have a set of afterhours mufflers and a evoms cai that i'll be putting on soon. will cat bypass pipes push me over the edge and make it too loud or will it help the tone? i'll probably do x51 style headers soon too. anyone who has modified their exhaust this heavily, do you think this will be suitable for a daily driver? thanks in advance.
derek

i have a full fabspeed exhaust (intake/Headers/HFC/Mufflers) and its not that loud. it depends which brand you buy as they all have different tones. do a search and watch some videos on youtube to see which one you like.

I did the "gundo" mod on my stockers last year and loved it. Quiet until you get on it, then it sounded great. It was a real "cheap" way to make your car sound great, and not mess anything up.

This year I built a full custom cat back for the GT3 rear bumper I put on, I still have to really hear it, the snow outside is keeping me from that.

X...

+ 1 on Gundo. It is the closest thing to the OEM PSE. Not too load, nice deep throaty sound and no drone. CAT bypass would make it too load for a DD in IMO, but of course that's all subjective.

But if you want to go for the real OEM PSE, there's a used one for sale here on 6speed. Check it out!!!

did you guys even read his question? he already has afterhours mufflers so why would he want to do a gundo hack or get pse?

best advice is to listen to cat bypass pipes on youtube and then determine for yourself if they're too loud. i'll even get you started with this side by side comparison.
