I found it! Rear-facing car seat...
When you're ready for a front-facing child seat that fits in the rear you'll have a lot more options than the rear-facing one. I spent countless hours looking into the ones that other people have tried. There is the Porsche brand child seat for the rear but it's not certified in Canada and also not readily available either so I bought a standard car seat. I believe it's a Britax, will have to check on the specific model but it was made in 2013 or 2012 I believe. PM me for details if you're interested. At the end of the day you just have to try a few different ones at the store to see what fits. I carry my little girl, who is now 4, in the car with no issues and believe she is very safe... after all, my 911 can brake faster and handle better than almost anything on the road and I drive slower when she's in the car.

Don't get me wrong.... I did transport my young ones in the Porsches.
I had 8 car accidents in a 13 year period. 6 were in my 911. They were all not my fault and most of them were rear end collisions. Worst one was a cement truck tried to drive on top of me bcoz he was not able to see me.

The 911 fared well all the time. The horizontal back brace had to be replaced all the time. They cut it, and spread the sides again to specs. This, however, should not be used to say that the 911 is safer than a front engine car --- I am no engineer.
The friggin' cement truck driver just kept pushing and revving his engine. I had to honk my horn before he stopped. As soon as he got out, he just said "sorry, you're so low that I didn't see you. And I wondered why truck was a little slow and heavy!"
He was already almost on top of me since he was already wrecking the Carrera wing.
My point here is that our cars have great brakes and agile. We can brake shorter and maneuver out of tough situations. However, our enemies are the other drivers who think they can brake as short as we do. No offense to SUV drivers (and I do own a Landcruiser), but that much weight and size can't stop as short as a small vehicle --- physics just can't be beat!

I am pulling for you! Keep the 911 as long as you can. Easy for me to say. I suspect for most of us, the 911 is a second car. It brings a smile to my kids faces so I can't imagine what it will do for a newborn.
I have the same dilemma as many of you. My wife is expecting our first baby. We live in Manhattan, and my 09 C2S is our only vehicle. I have been reading previous threads regarding rear-facing child seats, with not much promise.
Today, we did our research and trials, and found that the Chicco Keyfit 30 fits in the rear seat, with the base! We had to move the front passenger seat up a bit, however, my wife was still able to fit. I am 6'4, so putting the child seat behind me is not feasible. My wife is 5'6, and fit in the passenger seat with the child seat behind.
We will be buying the Uppa Baby Vista, which supposedly fits in the frunk, and is compatible with the Chicco Keyfit.
Today is one of the greatest days of my life so far...I do not need to sell my 911!!!!

Cheers,
I have good news for you. Chico Keyfit rear facing will fit in the front seat with passenger airbag turn off, wife squeeze in the back. But there is no room for the stroller. New born need stroller whenever you leave the house. Unfortunately you do need a second car if you want to take the family out together. Once your baby is about a year old, you can use smaller stroller, may be than your 911 can be useful again. Good luck
I wouldn't take that bet! My children are now 13 and 9 and I've driven an SUV since my first one was born (a few months before, actually). The OP will be amazed at the amount of stuff a tiny person needs. Pak 'n' Play if you're staying the night somewhere. Diaper bags. Stroller. Bag for clothes & toys. Et. etc. etc. No way that all fits in a 911. Something like an Audi SQ5 would fit your needs perfectly, or the new little Porsche SUV if you want to stay in the marque. And if you're planning on having a second in a couple or three years ... game over.
Congrats on adding to your family! I'm in a dilemma around whether or not to trade in my nice, but relatively boring sedan (2011 Acura TL) for a 2011 C4. I'm at the point where I can afford a 911 and have been dying for one for since teenage years. My kids are now 6 and 8 and I drop-off and pick-up from a school a couple of days a week (school is about 1.5 miles from home). I'm figuring they can fit in the back seats for that amount of time
I'd honestly think twice about dealing with the 911 with a newborn. Even with one kid, the sheer amount of stuff you truck around is mind-boggling. Especially if you're going on overnight trips. Up through 4 years old, you're trucking around a ton of stuff, especially as kids grow attached to large toys (much like their dads!). We'd never be able to manage on trips without our SUV.
