997 Fan and Temp Buttons

I recently had my climate control swapped out under a CPO warranty because my 06 C2 was not regulating the temperature properly. I ased for the old part back. I had that issue where the 'paint' was wearing off of the buttons. It was the only flaw on this car, and it was driving me nuts, but I wasn't going to spend 1k on a new climate control unit just for that.

Anyway, after looking at the old part, I realized that I can 3D print these buttons. It may or may not have the pic of the fan or the word 'TEMP' on them anymore (still working that out), but it will be a direct replacement if you have worn out parts.

I am looking to see if there is any interest here. I am going to make a CAD (digital blue print) and then have 2 sets of buttons printed for myself just in case they wear out in the future. Would anyone else be interested? Estimated cost is between $75 and $150 for the pair.

Thanks

I'd be interested in a copy of your CAD model. We have a 3D printer at work that I could use. Not sure if I can get black plastic though.

I am still sourcing the best place to do the CAD. When I get the file, I can send it to you. I will PM you when it gets done.

I too recently had my replace under CPO. I didn't know that you can ask for the old part when it was cover under warranty.

I have access to CATIA to do some modeling if needed. Would a CATPART file work?

Can you save a version in STEP format? Would be useful for us SolidWorks users.

Thanks,

Kit
