I recently picked up a '11 C4S w/PDK and love it.
However a friend of mine says there is a 2013 C4S Cab w/PDK for almost $15K off MSRP and thinks I should jump on it
What do you guys think: 991 C4S Cab

See how good a friend this friend is. See if he'll absorb the loss you'll likely take in your current car. If it is such a great deal, maybe he should jump on it. It's easy to tell other people what to do with their money.
On the surface I don't get it, unless like the previous poster says, there's something you really don't like about your current car and this car fixes it.
Flipping cars too frequently is a sure way to throw away a lot of money. The dealers always take a big cut.

I talked to the dealer and they will take my car for trade in for $80K if I buy the 991 for what they have it advertised at $127K. It does have all the options I like and then some. Here are some pics

^^ exactly. To answer this question we need to know how much of a loss you'd be taking. The 991 looks nice. I am a sucker for that color combo....
So how much did you pay for yours?

$47k plus taxes and fees for two years newer and a cabriolet. If the cab part is what you are after, then okay, but that only accounts for about $8k of the price (using 2011 pricing), leaving more than $40k after taxes for a two year upgrade to a very similar car. Seems a bit on the high side at well over $20k per year.
If it helps to better understand my perspective: I just moved up from a 2006 C4 to a 2009 C2S for a total of $23k, translating to about $8k per year and that included an upgrade to an S, DFI, 60 hp, PDK, and full leather.
If you are making payments, you are looking at something in the range of a 55-60% increase in your payments. Hopefully to be considering this kind of thing you are buying for cash though and have enough wealth that the extra money is not a significant consideration.

So, financial considerations aside, I have a question, if you don't mind. Your signature indicates that you have an '10 R8, '11 M3 "Vert" and currently an '09 C4S. In the spirit of variety (a good deal or 4 w/d notwithstanding), why would you want to add another "Vert" when each of the cars you have now offers something of a different flavor (and a great one at that). Wouldn't a 991 C4S hard top keep you better optioned with driving choices? Just askin'.
11K for a C4S traded to a dealer is probably not a bad price. However, it doesn't look like you are going to get any discount on the 991. It all comes down to what you want and do the numbers make sense to you. If it were an 11 coupe to a 13 coupe I don't think I'd do it. But the cab brings in a new dimension.
haha.. and some people may question why u are wasting so much money modding a non-S PDK.. but each to their own right ?
To the OP, the deal is fair, but that means u will still be losing substantial $..
only u can determine if its worth it to u.
If u want the ragtop, go for it !

Telling me I've wasted money modding a non-S PDK then telling another guy to upgrade to a 991 S with PDK? Quite ironic.
Considering we are a part of a car forum that generally appreciates modding and you want to talk about "wasting money" on mods? I think we are all in accord that modding isn't an investment.
You have absolutely no clue what I've paid for anything (especially the car), and the obvious fact that all of my mods thus far quickly could go into an S (and that the 997.2 keeps up with the 997.1 S like you have on the track with no problems), I'd be naive to say anything other than its fun to modify a 911; I didn't think I'd have to defend my personal choices. I could have bought a 997.1 S, but out of personal preference I opted not to...
[sorry to take the thread off topic, but damn]
