Can the radio trim surround be removed?

The paint on the radio next to the volume button is worn.

Can I just remove the trim around the radio and paint it or is it attached to the radio itself?

997.1 Turbo

Thanks!

The short answer is no. The long answer is that you can take the radio out of the car and take it apart with million of little pieces.... (I've done it) and pull the front part of the radio unit.

Thanks for the reply. I could also buy a new head unit on ebay for around $400 or so and swap it...

It's a used car and the prev owner must have had fat hands! HAH!

Thanks for the info guys.

The car didn't pass the PPI so I guess it doesn't matter. Maybe someone else can use this info in the future.
