removing battery after any mod to allow remapping of ecu good or not really?

some brothers practice removing the battery after a mod of some sort, eg changing mufflers, oil change, air filter change etc. etc. is removing the battery after any mod a good practice or not. i do notice that everytime car comes from the dealer my chrono that is set to "911" gets reset which could mean they are also resetting something when maintenance is done…any inputs

I can't understand why anyone would remove the battery except for replacing it. I will assume you mean disconnecting the battery. With the exception of working on things that are dependent on electricity I don't see why the battery would be disconnected...
