TPMS for HRE wheels
TPMS for HRE wheels
I put a used set of HRE P47 wheels onto my 07 c4s. Unfortunately they aren't equipped with TPMS and my local Porsche tech says the stock system won't fit due to the valve stems being on the inside the barrel of the wheel. I love the look of the wheels, but the service manager recommended I go back to my stock wheels. Has anyone had any luck using a different brand of TPMS sensors with the 997's system?
I understand, but it seems the valve stems are in an unorthodox location. Are yours on the outside of the wheel like normal? mine you have to actually reach through the spokes about 6 inches to get to it.
Mine are not on the Panamera right now at my shop (I keep two sets of wheels and tires) and I am pretty sure they are aftermarket sensors. Sorry I thought you meant they would not work with TPMS.
On some of the hre wheels the sensors are attached in the center of the barrel with an actual strap vs the typical oem valve stem. I wouldn't go back to stock if you like the hre. They will definelty work with the TPMS sensors just different mounting hardware.
PM the hre rep on here and he should help.

The OEM sensor will work. Take your wheels to a specialty wheels/tire shop that does this type of work and they will know what to do. If you have an 07 and have never replaced the sensors I recommend ordering a new set. Mine went out on me after 5 years.
