sale 997.1, wait a bit, but 997.2?

hi all,

im the happy owner of a 2006 carrera-S cab, black on black, manual. love it!

the IMS issue and others scare the hell out of me as my CPO expire in a couple months.

should I sale it while it still under warrantly (value) save cash for a year or 2, then buy a 997.2?

any known major issues with those DFI engine?

thanks

or keep the 997.1 and enjoy it while saving for the 997.2 ,, a nice upgrade. maybe even then do a trade in as you will save some tax dollars and headaches by trading. Chances of your current ride blowing up is slim anyway.
I have a 997.2 for two years and put 10K miles with only very minor things.

There was a discussion (actually several) on another site. The link below should get you started on potential DFI engine issue. My two cents: We have an '07 A4 with an early DFI engine. Carbon build-up was so bad and continual that we sued Audi under the CA Lemon Law (the law varies by state) and won. (Audi did not even want the car back, just gave us the money and said "go away".) But this was an early DFI engine from a then different company, and the issue wasn't widespread (or so Audi said). Maybe PAG has a better design. One thing though, carbon build-up on a Porsche DFI engine is probably preferable to your engine exploding, with no warning, from an IMS/RMS issue.

Good luck with your decision!
