Michelin Pilot Super Sports & 2012 911 GTS
Michelin Pilot Super Sports & 2012 911 GTS
Finally got rid of my Pirelli P Zero (original tires) and purchased Michelin Pilot Super Sports for my 2012 911 GTS. I tracked my car last year and can honestly say that after the first session in May my PPZ were done. The grip and confidence was gone by the second event. The car & I were begging for grip…which the Pirelli’s could not provide. I was at Mosport yesterday for a “Lapping Event” unfortunately it rained all day. I now have a new found respect for Porsche 911s because I was driving what has to be the worlds best pound for pound machine with over 50 years of tinkering and over engineering behind it. I can’t believe how the MPSS were gripping and begging to be driven faster while the wind shield wipers were working overtime from the constant down pour. Outside temps were 5 degrees, this didn’t matter. I’ve never tracked in the rain before, I’m glad I tried it….if you haven’t tracked in the rain before strongly suggest you try it.
I now can’t wait for a warm dry day so I can really appreciate my GTS with the tires Porsche should have provided me from day one.
