997 cracked/scratched headlights

Hi,

I have a 2005 997CS and both headlights have some pretty bad scratches/cracks in them on the lens/cover, bad enough that polish/repair kits/etc wont be enough. Other than this the lights are fine.

As far as I know it's not possible to get hold of just the headlight lenses (but correct me if I'm wrong). And a new pair of litronic headlights is about $2500 total, which is a bit too much imho just to get rid of a few scratches.

The halogen headlights though are only $500 each, which makes me wonder if it would be possible to remove the lenses from the halogen lights and put them on my litronics? It seems that the lens and housing is identical, but does anyone know for sure if it works/fits?

Here is a guide for disassembling a 997 headlight - https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...lens-swap.html
The work seems easy enough if only the lenses will fit.

If this would work, and anyone is in need of a new pair of halogen lights without the lenses, let me know and we could maybe split the cost
