At $20, i would have bought all three and replaced them. At $40, i would have thought about it, and definitely bought one. At $49, same thing.

At $150/piece, i did the right thing: $7 red plastidip. Once the mold is set, and at 30% distributor margins, Porsche lost $30 of potential profit by overpricing this unit.

The problem: they have a captive market, and many customers will end up shelling the $150. I cannot fault Porsche for this pricing strategy... Except that it may alienate its most loyal customers.
