997 black edition

Hi guys I'm contemplating selling my E90 M3 for a 911. I won't be driving it much since it's going to be a weekend car and am planning to keep it for awhile.

I have been eyeing a black edition coupe or a new base 991. Which one will hold value better? Is there any significance in the black edition even though it's a limited edition? My older brothers used to clown the RS America Cuz it was the cheapest 911 now a clean low mileage version goes north of 60k lol. I know a base 991 will have no significance to collect so was leaning towards a black edition. Am I making the right choice?

The black edition was a base model 2012 C2 with a few nice options at a budget price. If you were looking for a black base model already, it was a pretty good deal. They made 1911 of them so they are not all that rare. Still, a great car if it has what you are looking for in a 911.

I like black cars and the black edition has some nice options with it...but it will never be a collector's item. If the car is what you like buy it for that reason not that it might be a collector's item.

I would either look for a 997 S or get a base model 991 if that cars dynamic suit you.

The Black Edition basically means nothing. If you're gonna get a 997, go with an S. I'm not sure if you've driven both but I love my 997 S over the 991 S after extensive driving (6MT vs 7MT)

Like everyone said, Black Edition is not like the RS America, in terms of collectibility. There are no additional performances added on over the base C2 or a more stripped down version for performance/track usage. It's more for options that some people would like to have on their C2 but at a saving, IMO.
