It might be different in London, but here (CA) the only cars with "blue" headlights are the posers and wannabe's. See them a lot on the Honda Civics and that type of cars.

Look I dont want to start an argument but consider style is subjective. What you might find stylish, someone may not find it so.

Many people here upgrade all sorts of things, from wheels to engine mods. Some people say big wheels are distasteful and cheap, you might think otherwise.

Just giving you an example, Im coming from a BMW driver, which everyone seems to hate.

I hate those blue lights as well. Most people who have them install are jerks. At least those that have them I have come across. They put the beam up way to high and don't care how irritating it is to others. They are actually illegal in California but police have other things to do besides stopping people with this lights.

As a show car I don't mind but driving on the streets they are just ridiculous. .

Do what makes you happy. Either way, car with/with out, there are aftermarket kits to upgrade to HID and there are bulbs to make the HID more blue, I think you will be covered.

I get that you don't like blue lights, but is the ad hominem attack really necessary? I don't particularly like blue lights that much, either, but I wouldn't go so far with calling people who install them jerks. Some people may not like my fixed wing or my loud exhaust, but I don't think that's enough to make me a jerk. Lighten up on the OP. There's room here for lots of opinions, some with which you may not agree.

The sentiment that I got from Cairo and Raider's post is that here in the Bay Area, it's a different crowd that does the blue lights, not common for the Porsche crowd.

Bulb is a D2S, easy swap with many bulb options out there. if your car has no HID bulbs then you will need an H7 HID conversion. The lamp pulls out easy enough but is sealed (couple screws) so you will have to drill a hole in the cover to allow the HID wiring to reach the supplied ballast which you will mount in the fender.

The high beam on the non HID car is provided by a halogen bulb. The high beam on the HID 997 is also halogen bulb (flash to pass) but also the HID lens moves for added lighting power. You won't have this on the non HID car, no biggie.

The good thing is the non HID lens is a projector in the low beam so an HID kit won't scatter much and you will get decent light output using a 4200k bulb.

Just expressing my experiences. Not the OP. My apologies if it was taken out context. When you have several experiences with the same common denominator you choose an opinion. Not that the OP is wrong. Just my experience.

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but I think all 997's with Xenon headlights have the headlight washer nozzles, and cars without do not.

It's taking me every PC molecule in my body not to mention the "R" word -- you know, the stuff you cook in water or order with your Chinese takeout?

I thought risotto was Italian!

At any rate, these 12k HID's would go really nice with Indiglo gauges. Also, check the Budget Audio thread for some pics of a Bazooka sub strapped in the back seat.

It sounds like you are trying to rice out your porsche. Perhaps a honda civic or subaru would be a better choice. 10k bulbs are blue. What you want is bordering on purple.

I think there is a uniform agreement to what style looks good per car. 21 inch rims may look good on a escalade or caddy but not a porsche. People shouldn't rice out nice cars. If you look at it, the people who do these tasteless mods usually have no sense.

Or they are the ricer crowd that does it just to modify their cars but don't have the money to do it properly. Every now and then a ricer will make enough money to up their game, and "pimp" out a nice car and it gives everyone who drives that car a bad image.

The higher exotic you get, you associate it with maturity (ideally) and some sense of a brain. So people ricing out exotics actually are doing intelligent successful people a disservice to their image, because now they are associated with these tasteless people.

Now me personally doesn't care what people do to their cars, but this philosophy is why people are hard on the OP.
