I have the same car (5 yrs) and love it. I drive it every week and in winter too on good dry roads if the temp is above 35. Absolutely a blast to drive. It's a late 05 with the larger IMS so I don't worry about that. At $30k you won't be disappointed, I paid a lot more for mine in '09. Enjoy!

That's a lot of car with a ton of maintenance done for cheap money. You bought well and should have years of trouble free ownership. Do your own maintenance and save your self some money. Oil changes, filters, brakes etc are all incredibly easy to do on these cars
Congratulations

I am glad I am not the only one who think 997.1 look a lot better than 997.2 (mostly bc I do not like the front bumper). I do like 997.2 LED lights and I did change it to FVD LED front and rear lights. As for engine reliability, I don't have any problem with my 997.1 for the last 1.5 year of driving it (except for routine fluid changes and maintenance). So madddog don't worry about it, drive it like you stole it, and I think my 997.1 sound better than 997.2 anyway. Now I am back in the market for 2008/2009 997.1 Turbo, been looking for two months and can't find one really nice WHITE TT. Enjoy your new 911 Maddog

Enjoy the car and please don't mod it with 997.2 stuff. It makes the worse imo

As has been mentioned earlier, if the previous owner hasn't replaced the water pump, do it now. Mine blew at 40K for some perspective.

Enjoy the car in good health =)

Kidding aside, that's one heck of a deal you got. 911 performance for the cost of a Camry

Here are a couple photos after I got it home.

THIS CAR IS A CHICK MAGNET! (Easy with the comments folks as that is my octogenarian Mom!!!)

Driving it daily and grinning as wide as the tail end!

Good luck to the reader looking for the White TT. I too find white to be by far and away the best color in automobiles. Almost had one myself.

Not planning any hacks really. At least not yet. I'm entry level Porsche in the entry level 911. Very likely upgrade the sound/communications would be first priority. Will start new thread on this topic as wondering if the MOST HUR is worth the money to DIY install a double DIN center.

Very pleased to have gotten the Homelink paired with my Genie door opener after two days trying! I think that is better than average!

Thanks for all the responders as I am feeling a whole bunch better now that I've got it home and enjoying driving it.

It was done at 64k with a new tensioner pulley according to the INDY the previous owner used. The car has 69k on it now. I did order a belt to carry in case but not sure I want to lug around the tools to install it!

It also made me realize I have never changed the belts on my 95 325i. It only has 206,000 miles though so should be good, right?! Ordered those too.

Good suggestion Steve! You don't get far without that belt...

I hear the water pumps can be a weak link due probably to the plastic impeller. I will have to research when or if this one has been changed as I can't remember off the top of my head.

I believe the water pump can be a DIY project without dropping the motor. Is this correct?

Great tip Sullic! I might have to roll the dice here for a bit to let the bank account recover!
