dont think my 997 has this feature

check engine light 05Dodge Ram 2500,,googled it and found out you turn key 3 times and the fault code shows up on odometer

That's very cool! I still get mad that my '10 C4S requires the dealership or a special computer to reset the maintenance light. Complete BS!

I think it was cool too, had no idea since the check engine has never come on in 9years,,i only brought this up as my P car check lite is on and is a O2 sensor problem, not critical but im sure ill end up at dealer eventually.$$

years ago i had a '94 Cadillac, it had a "magic" sequence of button presses (ac off plus something else) and it would display the full set of monitored computers and any stored codes (didn't need any external readers at all)... I thought it was super cool because I don't think any other make of car does this...

Many cars use the radio display and buttons to show engine parameters, codes, etc. Techs go through a series of steps to get info on the vehicle.

an ODBII reader can clear check engine light and error codes. Don't need a durametric for that.

I wonder if the ODBII reader can clear service maintenance light

I used to have a Dodge that would do the same thing. It was handy!

The 996 has a button sequence on the AC controls that will display information like intake air temperature among other bits of data. I don't know if the 997 has any easter eggs like that or not.
