Not to get off the subject but hey Aerosmith how is the X51. I bet it is a blast! 997Sdriver it sounds like you have a great car coming.

Pass on the sport exhaust and get the Fabspeed or AWE exhaust, headers, and free flow cats. You will gain 39hp and lose about 50-60 lbs from the rear of the car. More hp than an X51 package!

She just revs up so fast it's scary. I mean, you better be paying attention because you're going 120 in a flash. And you had better have the PASM in sport mode.
I love the low end rumble and burble and the high end howl from this car. The motor is like a turbine.
I told my wife that I'm never buying another sports car, ever. This car is, for me, perfection.
I've said many time the car I bought is a long term keeper, but it never seems to last. Porsche just keeps coming out with better and better cars.
Personally, I can't decide between a 997S with the power package or going with a C4S with a power package. I really like the aero kit on the 997 also. I just saw a white 997S with the aero package and it really looked great. Like another thread, where do you draw the line with price though?

Anytime a 997S can make people with a 996TT think about switching, that says a lot. I'm definitely a power junkie, so speed and power are important to me, but probably only to a certain degree. At some point, it will just get me in trouble on the street wanting to enjoy it when i shouldn't, not that the 997S couldn't do that to.
An interesting note: the local specialty car dealer I bought my Cayenne Turbo from took a 997S & a 996 GT3 to Sebring race track and compared to two cars on the track. You need to understand that this guy is a professional racer also (he's won rallys in New Zealand, sponsors and teaches Panoz driving schools at Sebring, etc., so his driving skills are on a high level. He lapped Sebring FASTER in the 997S than the GT3! To me, that says a lot about the 997S. Add a power package or jazz it up after market with some of the suggestions of guys on this site and get another 25 to 40 hp and you now have a great daily driver that's a handling dream and speed rocket. For me, that's what's important. I want a fantastic car that I can enjoy driving every day. Last, I think the new 997 styling is a home run for Porsche. I absolutely love it. The hardest decision is what color to order and interior options. You live in the interior, so that's very important also.
I had a 1996 996TT with full leather interior treatment, totaled it at Road America and proceeded to get a 1997 996TT with minimal interior leather (base), and I couldn't believe how different the two interiors felt - very different. I missed the luxury and quality feel of the 96 with more leather.
