18 Boxster Wheels on 997.2 S

So, I know similar questions have been asked and I read, but I have a few more specifics...

So, I am pickup up a new to me 09 911 C2S Cab. Yay. Happy happy joy joy... but, the rear wheel has 2 cracks on the spokes.

I know, not safe to drive nor can it be repaired.

Rewind Oct 2014. Bought a new set of rims for my wifes 1999 Boxster. We were not planning on selling the car. We got it with 0 and were going to keep it until this new set of wheels fall off.

Rewind Dec 2014. For a nice Christmas present, life decides to end the year for me and my wife with a bang. Literally. While at work, a lady decides to confuse the brake and gas in the parking lot and whacks 5 cars. My wife's being the most damage.

Car is basically totaled. We got our money from INS. I put back the old wheels on the car and took the basically new wheels and put them in the garage. They have had maybe 300 miles on them? And luckily, not a bit of damage.

Today.

We just closed the deal on a new to me 2009 911 S Cab. Happy happy joy joy.

My question after all that..

Can I run (temporarily) the 997.2 on the Boxster wheels?
Should I run all 4?
Should i just run the rears?
Should I put the 19" fronts in the rear and put the 18s in the front?
Can I just run 3 19s and put the 1 18 on the rear and get it home?

18 X8 5-130.00 45 (225 / 40 / 18)
18 X9.5 5-130.00 49 (265 / 35 / 18)

Stock wheel size on the Wheels...

Unless, some one has the bright idea that I can make it home? Driving on the freeway? At 70+mph? For about 50 - 60 miles.

I am not sure I am feeling that lucky tho....

I would change all 4, a lot of folks change to smaller rims on winter time so no big issue there, I wouldn't drive around the block with those cracked rims, why is your new to you car come with the wheels like that? Have you thought about what broke it? Did you check the suspension on that side before buying the car?

It was found during the PPI.

I had actually already seen the car and drove it around for a spirited test drive...

I looked over the car, but failed to see this. Once I decided this was the car, I asked for the seller to drop it off at the shop I chose.

This was the worst of the findings, besides small paint issues. Nothing wrong with the engine, frame/unibody.

More likely a defect as the wheel is still round. Forgiato's are not the BEST wheel out there. But, they do look good.

I am thinking I am with you on this and just run all 4 until I get the wheel issue sorted out. I just wanted to make sure I would not completely mess anything up running 986 18s on a 997.2.

shouldn't be an issue, to those of us who live in snowy places (Chicago) a second set of wheels with winter tires is normal, and usually a smaller rim for winter pot holes is recommended.
