Sounds like 1/31 will work for most. Anyone have an idea of a good place to meet?

Right off of 92 & 85 there are several large parking lots that we can set up to meet. Also is quick and easy to get right back on the freeway and go to 35 and end up at Alice's for the drive. Any thoughts?

Ok cool. So next Saturday 1/31 let's meet in the morning around that area and drive up skyline to Alice's. Who's in?

(we can finalize the exact time and meet up place)

I just did a similar run this past Saturday, but started from the north end at the intersection of Hwy 92 and Hwy 35/Skyline.

I live closer to Alice's so I don't really know the 92 area. Does anyone want to pick a meet up place ? I'm ok to meet anytime after 8:30am

92W from 280N/S to Highway 1N/S is a great ride when traffic allows -- good asphalt, sweeping turns, stunning views -- and an absolute nightmare during pumpkin season, Christmas-tree-picking-out season, winter if temps approach 70 (68 on Sunday) and anytime it's hot in the summer, the fog clears out, and nice cool ocean temps beckon. My wife and I usually drop down south on 280 to 84W, which is also a picturesque, although longer, ride to the ocean that generally allows for some spirited driving here 'n' there.

Turning right @ the top of 92 onto Skyline takes you through mostly redwoods, sometimes through various undulations that take you down to oak-intensive creek-cut notches, as you gain elevation (summit is around, or just under, 2K ft I think; I've seen snow there). Again, pretty good roads, nice payment, places to stop for food or gas or just bladder relieving. And you can take 35 pretty much all the way to Los Gatos, I believe, with major turnouts such as Hwy 84 (west or east; coast or bay). (I think 9 intersects down south somewhere but I don't have maps.google implanted in my brain. Yet.)

Turning our attention the north, there's a new tunnel from HMB to Pacifica on 1, but it's also prone to backups. We usually restrict our adventures up there to 280 or 101 and then off to side streets. Cheers!

Here is a driving route I took a couple of years back when I had my M3. Maybe we can start with this route and make changes as we see fit.

There is a parking lot on Skyline right before the 92 intersection. That's a good place to meet up.

Click the link to see the google map:

Start Point : 92 & 35/Skyline >> Alice's >> Hwy 9 south >> Santa Cruz -- Lunch @ Chipotle's >> Davenport >> Light House Ranch >> Pescadero >> Half Moon Bay >> 92 & 35/Skyline = End Point

Here is my suggestion:

Off of 92 take the Delaware Exit to Concar Dr. On the corner of Delaware and Concar there is a HUGE parking lot with a Ross and a restaurant called The Pantry.

We can meet there say 8am to 8:30am and head out to 92 & 35 from there. Once at Alice's anyone hungry can eat there or for me I will have to head back to my neck of the woods.

I'm coming from Brentwood so hopefully we can set this up and make it happen.

Any thoughts??

Wow those all sound awesome ! Personally I'm ok with anything. If we meet up and start near San Mateo, I'll probably drop off after Alice's since it's near me.

But It sounds like we have some guys coming from Brentwood, Sacramento, etc. so we should try to finalize the details in the next day or so. I'd hate to have them come all the way down here and not have it planned out.

FINALIZED PLAN(?)

I did a quick maps search and it looks like there's a little shopping center plaza about 1.5 miles from the 92/35 merge. I just picked an address of one of the shops in that plaza:

Rainbow Pizza
Crystal Springs Village
112 De Anza Boulevard
San Mateo, CA 94402

What do you guys think about meeting here around 8:45 AM and then hopping on 35/Skyline to Alice's. We can stop at Alice's grab some food drink and then either continue on for more driving or head home, depending on how everyone feels.
