Tires
I'm running the Pirelli pzero's on my stock 07 997 and I think their great.. They grip really well. I changed over from the Bridgestone potenzas. We'll see how they do in the Arizona heat. I was told the potenzas don't dissipate the heat well and will wear out faster here in AZ.
Tried them on previous Corvette, not on 911's, and loved them. Have not heard good stuff about them on the Porsche's though, and not sure why.
Do you feel any difference/improvement going 245 on the front?
Softer sidewall than MPSS or PZero. Perfectly fine for road driving up to say 8/10ths and obviously gives a nice smooth controlled ride, but they will feel squishy if you push them hard...
... and of course, it is not suited for any track work beyond novice level.

Check out Hankook Evo's. Good tire. Good tread life. Only negative is that they need to be warmed up before real grip starts to happen.
Less expensive as well. Depends on your needs. I don't race my car all the time so the need to have absolute grip all the time isn't really a requirement.
As a DD Hankooks are great.

Figured I would post this here instead of starting a new thread.
My first set of PSS are getting a little long in the tooth so I decided to look into replacing them when I switch to my winter wheel/tire combo.
I called my local tire Indy and asked for a quote. I was told they are on back order. OK. I go to Tire Rack and see the same message. So I "chat" with a Tire Rack rep and he confirms that not only are the PSS are back order (since February 2015) the PS2 and Super Cups are also all on back order with no known delivery date. He further informs me that Michelin has decided to consolidate and "streamline" its two high performance tire manufacturing plants. I was in disbelief. How could they not have built up sufficient inventory.
Not happy with this answer I placed a call directly to Michelin. Their rep confirmed what I had been told and further told me that his forecast (which looks one month out) did not show any delivery of any PSS, PS2 or Cup tires.
Just wanted to share this unhappy news. Hopefully, Michelin get their act together soon or I will be forced to go to Bridgestone.

+1 on The hankook tires...They are great on the track and road and seem to act more like a 100 tread compound tire than a 220.
