Simon

If you don't mind I have some question.

Which point is used for connect positive line(green color line in below link image) of led drl ring headlight on your Porsche? lead fuse box or any other point?
Also when led ring turn on? at start(ACC on) engine or with fog lamp?

Regards

Mine is a 997.1, but converted to .2 DRL lights, which had been configured by my workshop as followed:

0 - Engine start (lights switch off) = DRL On (the tube light in the middle)
1 - Lights switch to "Park Light" = DRL + Park light on
2 - Lights switch to "Low Beam" = DRL + Park + Low Beam
X - Lights switch to "Front Fog" = does NOT do anything (.2 don't have front fog lights).

The green wire for the "Ring" is tapped into the wire going to the "Park Light" (which can be accessed from inside the trunk to the bumper, for my car).

But since many of you are interested in seeing more pics with these lights on a real car, here's how they look on my black car without doing the transplant and connection.

Still waiting for the black ones, and I may get these connected in the mean time if I get too bored over this long weekend. Stay tuned!

and one for BEFORE and AFTER

Should totally rock just one and one... BMW Motorcycle owners would feel right at home.

Lights look great, huge difference.

Ha... Thanks. Any idea how I can get 3 into the car, including the black one on this photo (the final/current look that I settled with, for now )

3- installing to the car. The rubber seal on the new lights is thicker than those on the original. It pushes the light forward a bit and I couldn't get it "locked". The trick was to (E) slide the mounting bracket forward by a little then the light will in place and locked properly.
Simon

You wrote motor removal and replacement was so easy but I don't thins so. I think this works is not easy.

Original motor and fake motor of aftermarket headlight(shipping clip) removal is easy but replacement is really hard to me.
Because original motor is a little shorter than fake motor of aftermarket headlight.
Therefore prominence-end of the original motor is not reach to clip of aftermarket headlight.

I tried several hour but I can't install still.
Please see attached image.

How can you fix this problem?

In the photo below, there are 2 nuts (circle in yellow) for adjusting the height and position of the light beam. You might need to adjust these two nuts in order to bring the mounting point close enough to you to mount the motor.

I forgot which direction is which but the headlights should come with a photo-instruction showing the direction.

Please note that this will make your light beam position to be completely out of place, so you will need to re-adjust the beam position so that the light aims properly and not blinding other people.

Simon, can you comment on how bright the light output is on the headlights at night? I know some aftermarket projectors have very poor output and beam pattern.

These lights reuse the stock HID kit. So there's no difference in the brightness output, and the beam pattern looks fine to me.

Headlight trim

Hi I'm new to this site, but can simoncpw help?
Where did you get the trims for your lights, they look good and is exactly what I'm after.

They are just vinyl wrapping. I bought the 3M vinyl from the wrapping shop and DIY'd myself. Pretty easy to do, took about an hour for both sides.

Thanks Simon,

Did you pre cut the vinyl before applying? Your car looks nice, modern and stealthy.

SoCal, you did a good job with your car, looks good! Do you have a rear diffuser? Did you wrap that too?
