Hi Alex, the car looks great~~nice job! In regard to the H&R lowering springs, I thought that was not the ideal setup but rather go with an X73 ot PSS9 setup. I have an 01 TT with these springs and I like the stance of the car and the ride is not too harsh. What`s your thinking on this. Milke

Hi Mike, you are right... except for the turbo and 996's.. The 997s are a different kettle of fish. The 997S comes with the PASM electronically adjutable suspension which not only costs and arm and a leg as an option but also isn't to fun to "rip out" in favor of another coil over system. Basically people have decided they like the sports suspension enough to where they can use some slithgly stiffer lowering springs and match that with the "sport" mode of the PASM. On the 996TT and 996 we're lucky we don't have it and can just chuck out our stock suspension in favor of a true coil over system such as the PSS9s, JICs, Motons etc... When taking those things out on the 996 you don't get a bunch of dash lights telling you you've disabled PASM etc... and errors.. So on the 996TT for the street I still feel the PSS9 kit (as long as you don't want to go suuuuper low) is the way to go. Most of the folks we do them for seem right at home on then and for those that want a little more track orientated packages we go with Motons or JRZs..

The reason I don't like springs on a TT is that if anything it makes the handling worse. The shocks are too soft, the car is too heavy and then you throw some stiff springs at it and it becomes unbalanced and "underdamped". Then your car pogos up and down etc... Hence stick to a "matched sprung and valved" coil over system.

Make sense?

20s look too big on the 911. 19s are ideal.

look at them hips on the 997 C4S. porsche finally got it back to 993 widebody style with that thing. 996s can only begin to imagine.

can't wait to see an aerokitted with wing 997 widebody lowered on 19s.
