997TT in Los Angeles
Where is my damn camera when I need it?
Just right now, I was in my m3, homebound 405 north.
Right after that mess around the 90 freeway, after which everyone went 90+ then be slowed down by traffic north of the 10.
Then I saw it, a black 997TT on the slow lane, just like the one in Autoweek. There's no mistaking the grilled, front and side intake. Seems like a big dude in it. The paint was shiny black but there was clear camo treatment on the back. Not sure if he saw me because he did a short burst at one point around Wilshire exit. But just my luck, I was stuck on the leftmost lane. Attempts to chase it was furtile but I'm pretty sure it exited around Sunset or so.

I know what you mean about having a camera when you need one! I was in Santa Monica last week and on Wednesday a black turbo 997 with black wheels pulled up next to my wife and me and made a right turn. Then another one did the same, and another one, and another one. All 4 appeared identical, except one of them had red brake calipers instead of the yellow ceramics. They seemed to be in a hurry! There was no way I could catch them in the Avis rental Oldsmobuick!
Sorry for the delay in posting...three, count 'em, 3 997 TT's right in front of our showroom on Sunset Blvd last week! I couldn't grab the camera fast enough, but they got caught in a bit of traffic and my buddy was able to snap a couple with his camera phone...I'll try and post them as soon as I get the chance. Kinda bland though. They were all black, filthy, and slightly camo'd, so I won't hold anything against Porsche until i see the production car.
So, I'm assuming that the purpose of running these cars around LA is to see how they do in stop and go traffic and city use. What's with the zipping around corners and being in a hurry? Don't they know that we are trying to snap photos of them!?!?!?
