STEP TWO: Open the door pocket lid and find a soft surface on which to lay the door (leather down) while you go to work on the inside of the door panel.
STEP THREE: Get a feel for how the pocket lid is hinged, view the retainer pins on each side.
STEP FOUR: Find the U-shaped clip that wraps around the actuating (spring-loaded) hinge. This needs to be removed. Following are pictures that show the clip, and how it's locked into the plastic door panel body. As you pull up on the outer tab with or without a trim tool, applying a little pressure with your finger tip to one of the two outer legs of the perforated section of the clip will release it from the door panel. Be gentle and careful, as you do not want to break the clip.
STEP FIVE: The assembly that holds the orange cog needs to be removed next. It is secured by a few plastic retaining pieces that just need to be squeezed together and pushed through the housing. Pull the cog assembly out as directed in the pic below.
STEP SIX: With needle nosed pliers, carefully remove the spring from the lid as shown in the pic below.
STEP SEVEN: With need nosed pliers, pinch the hinge pieces as indicated in the pic below until the retainer pins are completely disengaged, and push the hinge into the door pocket.
There you go. You can install in reverse order. Good luck!
