I certainly want to see at least 10 hp gains from an exhaust cat back or it is a waste of my time and money

like u can even feel 10hp increase..

Most people think Gundo/Fister sounds great, certainly better than stock.

but if its just a loud 'noise' to u, why are u even considering an exhaust change ? This is not a turbo like ur ctt.. there are no cheap ways to squeeze more power out of our NA car

Please go ahead and spend $3k for a full exhaust system and get that '10-20' hp increase... and see who is wasting time and money

No exhaust is going to give you a real power increase on a N\A car. Exhaust is only for sound.

So are you claiming that such esteemed vendors as fabspeed - Borla - and Tubo for example are making false claims when they claim their cat back systems make between 10 - 12 whp ?

I don't know - 10 hp on the exhaust - a few hp on the intake and then another 15 or 20 on the tune - that will net me 35 - 40 more hp - that is a nice pick up in power 10% gains

Every little bit counts

I could have just gotten a "S" version but the one I ran across with only 16 km miles was in such perfect and almost new condition I could not pass on it

That's just plain..... forgive me... stupid. No matter what you buy, for "just a little more" you can get something else. it doesn't stop.
If one cant be content with their choice then perhaps they were looking in the wrong place to begin with.

Best thing to do is to buy the best you can afford. I could not afford to buy S at the time of the purchase so i got a C4. S was 12K more and i was not willing to spent that much extra. Absolutely no remorse here. I love what i have and don't think twice about it. Some people can drive a C2 faster than most can drive S. I hope i will be one of them one day.
I know when i'm ready i'll get a GT3 or 360 Modena. I know what i can afford and what is a bad idea to purchase. I sleep quite well at night.

What he said!!!! ^

No loss or gain of anything. What I have gained are looks of what is that sound from? I have 100% positive comments on my Fister Exhaust. Some have asked me to blip the throttle just to hear it.

If you are power hungry....go get a turbo. What will you do with all that extra power? Race someone in an SRT to show who's boss?

Not practical. Be happy with what you bought and enjoy the car for what it's meant to be.

IMHO

Lol I was not being too serious with the comments, tough crowd here on 6speed. And yes, it doesn't stop. Always seems like the grass is greener on the other side...But don't get me wrong, I am ecstatic to be a 911 owner period. This is an exclusive club. Anyway can't wait for gundo/fister.

After reading the uniformity of opinions that the Gundo hack does not make any power of any kind and is simply to make more noise I elected to get a Borla cat back system which I picked up on Amazon for $1200 and change shipped. The benefits to me were #1 - it is reversible when I want to sell the car and I can sell the Borla system to recover some of my initial cost.

#2 - It actually was claimed to make more power and sure enough it did make more power. ironically I am feeling the most gain right around 3500 - 4000 when I stab the gas pedal it its me much harder in the back 0 the TQ onset if much harder significantly harder

#3 - No bother or worries trying to explain what to do to with some muffler shop or trying to get a fabricator to do the hack job for me.

I could not be more happy with the Borla units and the sound is really spot on. Zero drone. Sounds like it should have from the factory.

One more benefit about 10 pounds off the rear of the car

Had to add this comment - to me regardless of what power level Porsche 977 I bought the process of customization and modification is going to take place. I am very happy with my base C2 - but I am also enjoying modifying it and enjoying working on the car and getting used to wrenching on it. The car is not a really super fast car but the speed is deceptive and sneaks up on you when combined with the super aero profile of the car once you get over 80 mph it really starts to take off very well for a car with only 325 hp.

I have also installed the Evom intake and I really did not notice much power gains if any from that - it did however add to the Sound variation and made the car sound even more sporty

Next up is going to be the softronics tune

My sincere hope is to get the car on to a dyno when I do the tune and perhaps do a A - B test on the stock vs Evom intake at the same time.

I know that Evom is a well respected vendor but frankly I call total BS on the power claims they have for that intake

When you say Cat Delete are you talking about the Catalytic Converter that you are removing?

If yes...is that legal to do in your State? I hear some do it here in Cali, but you cannot smog without it. The effort of removing and putting them back on for smog seems a waste of time...unless you are into doing that.

I love my Fister Cans and wouldn't want to change my exhaust. If I went from headers back, maybe, because then there is a gain with all those components getting changed..along with IPD and TB change out. Cali is so strict on the smog requirements it's crazy. My Brother In Law has a Borla on his Boxster...sounds awesome, but I didn't want to spend the money on that.

Sort of Off Topic...speaking of sound..i was at my local BMW Dealer Saturday and heard a new M4 take off on a test drive. OH MY what a horrible sound it made!! It sounded like a Civic with one of those big *** cans on it. The driver ripped it leaving the dealer and it sounded so awesome. Worse exhaust note I have ever heard for a BMW with the M badge on it.

Has anyone else heard it?

Coming from a E92 M3, the new ones even with aftermarket exhaust make sad when I hear them. I could listen to my fister cans all day long.
