Thinking about doing a full gt3 kit on my 997.1. Any suggestions?
Hey guys
I have a 997.1 Carrera S. I love the car and have recently started looking at the possibility of doing a full GT3 kit on it.
I checked some places like Precision Porsche (997.2 kits only), NR auto, and Suncoast Porsche, but can't seem to find much. I searched the forums as well.
My question is what suppliers are recommended to get the kit from. Cost is important to me so good quality with good pricing is preferred.
Thanks for ur help

Are you opposed to aftermarket reproductions? Getty Design should have something that will fit the bill

search my threads. I did this to my old 2006 C2S. looked great but got a real gt3 4k miles later.
it transforms the look of the car and youll need a beefier set of wheels or space out the ones you have
if youre dead set on doing it, know that you might get 10 cents on the mod dollar when you sell it.

I would do the OEM front bumper kit b/c there are so many nooks & crannies that a fiberglass replica just can't match in terms of plug & play fit & finish- the time & cost to refinish it would just not be worth it. Plus the front lip & lower bumper will be prone to bumping & scraping, and fiberglass is not forgiving like the OEM plastic bumper.
Also, I would consider just going for the Aero front bumper instead of GT3, since mentioned money is of concern. It's nearly identical, save the top grill and costs less than the GT3 version ($1,500 from Sun Coast). You could go w. a replica GT3 wing as fitment is not as crucial- there aren't as many holes to line up and it's a stationary piece that will never come into contact w. a curb, pot hole, speed bump like the front bumper inevitably will.
I went w. an OEM Aerokit front bumper from Sun Coast and an FRP Duck Tail Sport from Getty (Sport Design replica). I paid $1,200 for refinishing (the tail), paint and install. I personally could not own a 997 w/o the Aerokit, especially the front. As another member mentioned, I did beef up the suspension/ wheel fitment to complement the more aggressive look. The wheels are oem 19" sizes, I added H&R springs and 7mm front & 15mm rear spacers. Could not be happier w. the results!

+1 on OEM. Fiberglass bumpers suck. I have a GT3 rep front and it doesn't fit like OEM. Also it is already starting to get cracks due to the non-flexibility. Once I stumble upon a reasonably priced OEM Aerokit bumper I'm throwing this one in the trash.

I am in the process of doing this now with OEM Aerokit rear deck, GT3 coilovers and GT3 front and rear bumpers. All factory parts - from GT3 bumper supports, air ducts, head shields, every plastic piece, screw, nut, rivet, to even the protective films on bumpers. The only things that are not OEM are the TPC DSC box, Champion RS171 wheels and the Cargraphic center exit exhaust. The parts were expensive but I didn't want to deal with fitment issues.
I know this is probably not worth the money, but it sure is a fun project.

I recommend you go with a factory Aerokit rear deck instead of GT3 one. I bought my Aerokit rear deck from eBay, it was brand new and never painted. I also had a GT3 rear spoiler. I decided to go with Aerokit because I didn't want to modify my intake.
I still have the OEM GT3 airbox, we can work out a deal if you decide to go with the GT3 rear spoiler.

+2 on OEM, the front bumper and rear deck on my C2S are OEM, rear bumper Misha. The front/rear bumper were painted by same shop, same painter, same day. Front came out perfect, rear not so perfect.
As for the rear deck, no prep work was needed, aftermarket fiberglass = more prep = more $$$

If you want to get a GT3 for "under the skin" I would go with:
Bilstein B16 PASM coilovers
Full Elephant Racing suspension control arms and drop links
GMG turbo sway bars
BBi Roll cage
Sparco Evo 2 seats
sabelt harness
IPD plenum
Tubi Exhaust
Remap ecu
Racing Rear Diff.
OZ or HRE 18" rims with Hoosier R7's
Yep...that should do it.
All the other stuff is just "plastic"
