What, how and where to buy? 996 or 997?

Hi all,

I have been check this forum for a month. And know you gues are expirenced Posche owners. I am looking to buy my first Porsche by X'mas, but would like to have your expirience suggestion before I throw in big bucks for a Porsche.

1- A friend of mine has a 2002 996 S Cab for sell. Price is around $45000 with lots of options. Should I get this 996 for a bargen for simply go for the 997. I really like the new old style of 997 head lightand a lot of small details. But don't the the different when drive a 996 V.S. 997.

2- If I go for 997, should I buy a 997 S or 997 4S? Do I need the 4S in Southern California? Does the 4 wheel drive make any differnt on dry land?

3- I know Cab looks a lot better than coup. But does 911 Cab has body twist feeling when drive like most of other Cab cars? I need to pick up kids with the car sometimes. Should I trust Porsche 911 Cab safty?

4- Where or which dealer should I go and what kind of bargen or negociation should I prepare? I drop by McKenna Porsche dealer-ship a couple of times but I wasn't treat right as they looked at me like I have no money to buy a Porsche. So, where and how to buy a Porsche for the best deal in Southern California?

There are a lot of questions I have. Thank you for any help and suggestion in advance!

Michael

My oppinion:

If you decide to get a 996, get a used 996 Turbo, you can get nice ones for 80K.
