engine lid strut

Just noticed on my 2011 c4s, only ONE engine lid strut (on passenger side). There are holes for bolts to place one on the driver's side. Normal? or did PO take off for some reason? (the one does work perfect, maybe all it needs)

did google in pics of engine, and 2011 models only show with one strut on passenger side. Makes me feel better!

The Turbos have two struts presumably to help with the extra weight of the wing assembly and its hydraulic pump and actuators. They save a few dollars by not putting the struct on the non-Turbos. I learned this when I added a Turbo wing to my S. (BTW, I didn't add the second strut to save a few dollars and it still holds it open just fine).
