Hi all,

Mine is a '06, Non-Bose system. I recently replaced all the speakers, and now thinking of adding a subwoofer.

I'm trying to decide if I should just buy a 2nd hand Bose-subwoofer taking out of a 997 (for easier installation), or get an after market solution (need to custom-made a housing).

So my questions on the original Bose subwoofer are:
- does it already have a built-amp inside the subwoofer housing, so I need to feed line-level audio signal to it? or
- does it only have the subwoofer speaker so I'll need to add another amplifier as well?
- what's the size of the actual subwoofer speaker?
- how many ohm is the speaker?

you can use aftermarket small subs installed own the box. or use a separate sub like a kicker hideaway unit. its self contained 8" with its own amp and rca precuts. i have a 996 sub box if thats where you want to go
