Unhappy Seatbelt Dinging

I read a thread a few weeks ago, that the automatic seat belt dinger could be de-programmed by a dealer. I called my dealer today to schedule an appointment, and he said "absolutely not......" it would subject them to a $10,000 fine, etc., etc. Anyone else have this done or have a dealer tell them this?

Second item is the automatic climate control always comes on when you start the car, even if it was off when the car was turned off. Can that be de-programmed. Dealer says that cannot be changed?

Just buy the seatbelt from a new model 5 or 7 series BMW. It will run 95/120 dollars, cut off the bekt end and plug it in.

I don't completely understand what you're saying to do.... "cut off the 'bekt end' and plug it in" ?

NOW I UNDERSTAND...........just a little slow on abbreviations at times...........

The BMW male end fits the Porsche female seatbelt fastner.

However, I still remember a post someone did saying that it can be deprogrammed. I usually wear my seatbelt, I just don't always plug it in the minute I get in the car and drive away. Old habits are hard to break....
