Dealer visit confuses me about PDK maintenance.

Just took my 09 C4 out of storage and to the dealer for oil and filter change. Have just under 15K miles and was ready and prepared to discuss PDK clutch and front diff fluid change, brake fluid change, condition of drive belt etc. I have CPO warranty through September 2017.

To my surprise they recommended no additional service. They complimented me on the outstanding condition of the car and the low mileage. When i questioned the need specifically regarding PDK fluid change they said "we don't do them". I mentioned the forums I've joined and the discussions regarding PDK fluid change and they asked if anyone had reported PDK issues or failures and I had to admit very few or next to none.

I definitely think that they do not think this service is necessary particularly with my low mileage. I also think that they have never performed this service for anyone.

I plan on keeping this car for quite some time. Your thoughts are appreciated.

Thanks.

I asked a similar question regarding fluid changes on the Technical Assistance Forum regarding the manual transmission and rear end in my '09 Carrera S. I basically received the same answer as you; "...don't worry about it."

I asked same PDK fluid change question to 2 PCA recommended independent Porsche specialists. My 09 C4S has 27k miles. Answers: A) Not needed before 10 years or 60k miles. It is a sealed component. B) If Porsche says replace PDK fluid after 6 years there is a reason. Since it is a key component why not doing it. So my decision at this point: I am waiting for next fall and I am gathering more opinions.

I have a '09 C2S and had my 6yr. or 60k mile service performed last month. I have 47k miles on the car. This service included changing the PDK clutch fluid, but not the tranny fluid.

My 09 C4S had PDK clutch oil change 2 years ago when it reach 60K miles and the cars has over 80K miles now. When I brought the car in for annual maintainence and asked about it couple years ago the tech didn't know what to do because apparently I was the first in Buffalo to reach the PDK milestone. Eventually the tech figured out and the service was done. This is one service PDK owners shouldn't skip. I couldn't imagine the cost of a fail PDK due to poor maintenance.

Can you change the PASM modes when not in sport?

If not then I'd say your PASM switch is bad. If so, then it's more complicated.

There are threads on rennlist about this. Many do it preventively including myself but reports are that fluid looks great and filter clean. I don't like to gamble on a 14k non serviceable part.
