Gallardo vs 997S

I was able to have a little fun with my neighbor today. We crossed paths on a nice stretch of road and decided to have a little fun. His car is a Gallardo with E-gear and mine is a 6 speed. From a rolling start he could not pull on me until about mid-3rd gear. Right about at that point, he started to very slowly pull away and that was with me shifting a little slow and bouncing off the rev limiter. I also forgot to set sport mode and had the top down. I am certain that if I had a 996TT, it would have been dead even or I would have pulled on him.

Hm ... I have a 997S coupe and getting the evo intake + giac ecu upgrade next tuesday, what do you think it would do against a gallardo?

E-gear is really slow off the line. the gearing on the 06s is a different story though...

Here were 2 videos when we did some runs last summer

stage 2 TT vs Gallrado
stcok TT vs Gallrado

I will say stock TT was dead even with the G before 200km/h and the G strat pull slowly after. And the G we have is manual.

Thank you... Thank you very much... no one believed me before... but back on topic... this is not surprising at all... as i said before the 997S is as fast if not faster than the 996TT in the first 3 gears which explains your out come... and Ray showed us that the TT is just as fast as the Gallardo...

of course, and sorry i wasn't trying to compare the 2 cars so i think u misunderstand my point.

the C2S is not faster than the Gallardo nor more exotic looking. i was simply saying the pull off the line on any pre 06 Gallardo is not impressive, especially the E-gear. i drove few.

don't read between lines. Robert said the car was be able to hang in the first 3 gears but not after that.

I would love to see the results of a 997S X-51 vs. stock (415hp) Turbo or GT3

that is excactly what i was trying to say... i wanted to say that the 997S is able to hang with the Gallardo for the first three gears and the same goes to the 996TT... but after 3rd HP TQ and Displacement takes over... no doubt about it!... and just for half of the Gallardo's price that is very impressive... and i know the Gallardo is much more exotic looking... and is a no brainer which one i would take if they were the same price... and also Robert said his shifting was slow and bonced off of rev limiter... besides Robert's car is a Cab and he didn't utilize the much more aggressive SPORTS button... and this is a very impressive outcome... if the weather allows and my car can get fixed asap then Ray maybe can help me find out the result personally and hopefully we can post videos as well...
