Getting that "Gurgle/Crackle/Pop" noise for porsche
Cabin noise is the biggest issue i have with my 997.2. My 997.1 just had the Fabspeed Maxflo exhaust and the sound was perfect.
On my 997.2 I started with the Gundo/Fister. The sound was great but still not loud enough for me.
Then I added the Fabspeed CAI system. Louder sound at higher RPMs, i mean it screams, I liked that but still not idea.
Then I swapped the gundo for a Fabpseed Maxflo... Still not ideal but closer
Then I added the Fabspeed X-Pipe - Getting much closer...
Note regarding the cabin noise in my 997.2, its much louder outside the car than inside...

Nope, something like this thread over on rennlist: http://rennlist.com/forums/997-forum...r-34-00-a.html
simple next step (if you have the ***** to hack them), is to gundo your Maxflo mufflers. I gundo'd my Cargraphic mufflers, albeit on a 997.1, but the tone/volume is perfect for me and sounds like you are looking for a similar result. Otherwise hi-flow cats would also give you more volume.

PET diagrams show the same part numbers on the 997.1 airbox and throttle body between the base 3.6L engine and the 'S' 3.8L engine. So I'm 90% sure the CAI would be the same.
Cars with the X51 option have the larger throttle body and different airbox. I haven't seen any replacement silicone intake hoses for these though. The closest would be from IPD but it's way too long as it's designed to connect the larger GT3/X51 throttle body to the standard airbox.

Bought this beauty a few months ago!
I am looking for a nice "crackle/pop" noise when accelerating or decelerating, almost like a stock Jaguar F-type exhaust.
I just want that nice roar coming from my porsche when i drive (need to be able to communicate inside).
Am looking at:
- http://www.fabspeed.com/porsche-997-...intake-system/
But I'm not sure it's the right price and or what i actually want.
I was looking for a more distinctive exhaust note from my 2010 C4S Cab that PSE just wasn't giving me, so I ended up installing Fabspeed Sport Headers and 200-Cell Cats. I'm thrilled with the result, and here's a clip (PSE is "Off" until about 25 seconds, then "On" until the end of the clip):

I (sadly) reckon something like that. I havent heard a single 997 with that kind of exhaust characteristics. There is no doubt, that the 997 sounds great - even without the crackle.
I noticed that a lot of the newer DSG/PDK Cars have a crackle in their sound - even a Golf R, GTI, Audi TT (S/RS) etc.
A modified 991 GTS for comparison -

Gundo hack! That and cat-bypass pipes are insane.
I'm also running X-51 headers and hi-flow intake.
All in all, it sounds great.
Had to remove and sell the cat-bypass pipes as every car with a motion alarm was getting set off as I drove by...

Correct. Huge difference in my. 2 turbo rather than a .1.
For the record, Jag F-Type is artificially generating the snap/crackle/pop, which looks to duplicate the good old ''overrun'' sounds from the days of carbs, sloppy combustion, etc.
The exhaust system is somewhat elaborate and an entire team was dedicated to developing it. They got their final result by dumping a small am't of fuel into the exhaust, so that it'll snap, crackle and pop, just like the older cars that dumped fuel into their exhausts upon lifting throttle.
Some ECU tuning and other tuning tricks are out there to duplicate the slop that used to take place during lift throttle conditions. Small am't of this is going on in newest 991's, I believe.
TubiStyle does a pretty good job over there in their Maranello, Italy facility. They get it pretty darn right.
