I did the B&B pipes with Gundo hack and I'm 100% satisfied...The sound is intoxicating, I say go for it, you won't look back. No loss of power either...

Anyone have dyno of fister and/or BB center muffler bypass?

For those that have done billy boat, and issue with reduction in low end power/torque.

Billyboat... do you have any data you can share?

I'm afraid we don't have anything on that at the moment. We are getting our Dyno room repaired and back up shortly with plans to run a ton of vehicles through there when complete. I will post info as soon as I can...

BTW - Great customer service from Darin. I had mine installed by him a few years ago and there was a problem with a missing bolt. I called and asked him to send it to me so I could install it myself. Instead, he drove to my house an hour away on the same day and put the bolt on himself. He even gave me a free t-shirt. Very impressive!

Darin was great in every way. However, I'm not as pleased with the sound as I was hoping. It sounds great under full power, but normal driving around 4K RPM is kind of annoying. You have to be under 2500 rpm and no power to be quiet at all. Sounds great when you want to get on it and be loud though. My last 997.1 had a Fabspeed that I liked better (came with the car, more expensive of course).

A quick update on the exhaust, it is awesome. Not too loud, not too soft, just right. Can imagine the car sounding any different. I heard a 996 with a cargraphics exhaust as part of an article detailing why the 996 is great and must say that cargraphics sound was amazing, but now you are changing the tone to the car and thats what I like about this exhaust, is that it is the true Porsche sound.

The only negative thing is that after the initial "Wow Phase" is over, it will leave you wanting for more. To remedy that take a look at replacing the the center muffler with cross pipes... and no, it's not too much.

On my 997.2 C2 I did the Gundo Hack (which is basically the Fister mod) and followed up with a set of Billy Boat cross pipes. In a word... Sweeeet!
my progression was fabspeed intake, gundo then BB center ...now its perfect!!

Just had my Fister mufflers installed on my 06 997.1 4S Cabriolet. They sound great! I also did the black ceramic finish. Took a bit to get used to, but now I love them. Another satisfied customer.

Congrats! Fister is a great way to go.

When you want more, get some low flow cats.

Will blow your mind.

I'm seeing some cool stuff from Fabspeed and AWE. Just not ready to drop another $2K now... I did also see some cool replacement exhaust tips. That might be next.

AWE low flow cats. 200 cell. Or straight bypass pipes. All you need. :-)
