Gundo hack, loss of torque??

My new neighbor moved in yesterday and he has 14' 911 S with Porsche sport exhaust , After hearing it, brought to the forehead again how weak my exhaust is and how awesome his sounds. I have a 997.2 c4s with ECU flash and Fabspeed comp intake - I think I lost a bit of low end torque but gained a bit at 5k+ and gained some better sound around there too with intake . I was thinking of gundo hack but read about some people losing low end torque. I love my car BUT am not willing to lose any more low end torque - the c4s is not a torque monster to begin......gundo seems like an inexpensive remedy but any thoughts on loss of torque?

Do it...you'll not feel any performance changes, just a nice sound change.

The hack re-routes the exhaust flow, which is different from completely bypassing the cats. The loss of low end torque will only occur when back pressure is reduced which will only happen with the later, and more so with aftermarket headers which further increases the exhaust flow, but you will get an increase in power in the higher RPM range where the engine truly benefits from the higher exhaust flow.

So if you're after more sound, you'll be fine with a gundo/fister without losing any low end. BUT, I do find it interesting that your current mods has caused you to feel a loss of torque. The tuning and intake should have increased power all throughout the powerband, so you should not have felt any loss on the low end.

The feeling of loss in low end power might be from a faulty butt dyno 😉, or possibly a tune that either:

a. Is not properly mapped out to work with your intake, or

b. Is just too mild for your liking, as some tuners are more conservative on than others.
