Top bolt on cats

What's the secret to getting these off? I think I spent 20 minutes on each one.

I used a ratcheting wrench, it would click maybe 2-3 times, barely had any room.

Is it easier with the bumper off? I hate taking bumpers off because I always manage to screw something up....

I had to take off the mufflers and heat shields and cut those off with a sawzall.

Dang, that sucks. Mine were pretty easy to get off despite the lack of space. Bumper off next time.

I used a "half moon" (bent) 13 mm ring spanner and worked fine. No need to remove bumper unless nuts/ studs are corroded and need to be cut / ground down.

Extension with a swivel or universal socket adapter....no need to remove your bumper. If your swivel is floppy wrap some tape around it. If its rusted you throw some heat on the nut.

Side mufflers off
Overnight bath of chemicals
4 went off, 2 broken
All replaced with new OEM stuff
